Still Alive

Mostyn leaned on the interior wall of Murky Mart near the door, occasionally glancing out at the darkness to catch movement at the edge of the light given off by the sign on front of the store. He was pretty lucky to be alive, and not a mangled, clawed corpse. He knew that the movement he would see was from nightcrawlers coming as close as they could to the Mart, wanting to murder the two people they had been pursuing.

Mostyn looked over to his side at the person he had fled the nearby lighthouse with, the same person who was the reason he wasn't dead right now. "You alright?" Mostyn asked as he stuck his gun into the back of his pants.

Was she alright?

Seren hadn't been looking at him. She'd been staring out across the mart, the aisles, at the other survivors. She was panting slightly from the frantic flight over, with a tinge of red in her face. Her gun was still in her hand when she turned around to face him. Was she alright?

Her face didn't change. She just reared back and smashed the butt of her pistol across his head, full force. There was an audible CRACK when when the gun met his skull.

"Fuck!"

Mostyn shouted as he held his head, falling onto the floor in sheer pain. He writhed in agony, blood starting to seep out from under his hands from the wound. He continued to shout, easily drawing the attention of others survivors in the Mart. After doing this for several moments, he started to get to his feet to try and find that doctor, using the wall as support. He opened one of his eyes to look at the girl who had just caused him such pain, although his expression showed little rage. Of course, it could just be due to it being covered up by all the pain.

Her gun was already pointed to his head as he writhed and shouted on the floor. Pathetic. The other survivors would be looking now, but she didn't care.

As he stood back up, she pressed it against his forehead, pressing him back against the wall. "Batteries," she demanded. That was more than enough recompense for whatever happened back there. Did he even have any?

The noise of a loud cracking quickly caused Audrey to rise, limping towards where she had heard the gun being fired. The cause of it was unknown it was unlikely it was because of a night-walker, they couldn't stand the light of the Murky Mart, sometimes Audrey could hardly stand it, it was difficult falling asleep even though they had covered the lights with thick blankets, it still wasn't easy. The red-head paused glancing at the two survivors, a curious glance on her face. Audrey couldn't do anything, she was no doctor - she didn't know how to treat a gun wound. Also she couldn't fight very well, due to the fact that she was stabbed a few days ago. Thank god for Harvey and Vivi.

Though Audrey needed to help, Mostyn was a guy that helped her when she was wounded, even though she didn't know if Seren had saw her as a threat - pfft yeah a bipolar red-head that was stabbed a few days ago, she had one word to describe her self, pathetic. "Hey, Harvey, Violet! get your asses over here!" Was the only words that Audrey had said, pulling out her own weapon and drawing it onto Seren, she had one bullet - one bullet was all she needed.

"Put it down." Audrey said firmly.

OOC: She didn't shoot him though. She slapped him with her gun.

One glance behind her told her all she needed to know. Audrey. One of the more obnoxious survivors she'd encountered so far, with bandages still wrapped around her leg. Still, a gun was a gun, and Seren didn't plan on getting shot.

She grabbed the side of Mostyn's head by his hair, the side she'd smashed with her pistol, and threw him ahead of her as a human shield. Seren met Audrey's eyes, expressionless as always, and pressed her gun against his temple. The threat was clear.

"You."

The loud noises emanating from the front of the store drew Roy like a moth to fire. Roy wasn't really an active person in the mart. He took on more of an observer mode, just watching things happen. So when he glanced around the corner and saw Mostyn at gunpoint, Audrey becoming a hostage negotiator and Seren had either gone insane or Mostyn had really screwed her over. Whatever the case, Roy wasn't getting involved. Getting into the best position possible while staying hidden, Roy started listening to music while he watched the three settle thier dispute, hopefully diplomatically.

A loud snap alarmed her from her current activities, which was modest cooking for that night's meal. And when she heard her name being called, Vivi thought there was definitely something wrong. Hurrying from where she was, she looked over and noticed Audrey pointing a gun at someone else... Seren and Mostyn? Why did they always have to fight?

"Please don't do this!"

Mostyn grit his teeth as he was dragged forward by his hair, the barrel of Seren's gun being pressed against his temple. "You shoot me, and you'll just end up dead too. It isn't worth it. Let me go..." Mostyn mumbled slightly, although his voice was still understandable. He was right, too. If Seren killed off her hostage, she'd just get shot next, and things would only be worse for her as more survivors from throughout the Mart started showing up. Not to mention Seren had a hostage who was noticeably shorter than him; if anyone with particularly good aim was sneaking around, they could kill Seren without Mostyn being harmed. Hopefully, Seren would realize all of this...

Harvey too heard the crack; it's surprising loudness awoke him from his nap, causing him to rouse and blink, a "What the hell" escaping his lips. He ended up with the onlookers, staring at the scene in front of him. Chaos always happened when he slept. Harvey pushed past the others, glaring at Seren and rubbing the sleep from his eye.

"What are you doing, you moron?" he hissed, a whisper as to not alarm her but still laced with the venom of his incredulousness. "Put the fucking gun down, let's stop this shit. Put the gun down and we can forget about this."
Harvey fought the urge to draw his knife. This girl was obviously not in the best state of mind, and he didn't want to contradict himself. "We only have one rope anyway." he added quietly, and for a reason he himself did not know, he smiled, grinned even, let out a chuckle and inhaled deeply. The past week was really getting to him, it seemed. Something about this seemed funny.

Seren didn't laugh back. She glared forward, unmoving, obstinate.

It was all a bluff, of course. Even if she was sure she could put a bullet in that redhead before anyone could blink, she wasn't going to risk her life and her place in the supermarket over some idiot. But she also wasn't just going to throw all her weapons to the ground and go peacefully, if that's what they wanted of her. Seren wasn't anybody's prisoner or lackey, and if getting out of this free and intact meant killing any one of them, she wasn't going to hesitate.

"Guns down," she replied, straining to be heard. Her whispery voice sounded almost snakelike. Seren seemed to frown. "Batteries," she insisted.

Harvey frowned once more, almost ominously quick. So she wasn't one for jokes. He didn't turn to the others, but barked in a serious tone, "Put them down, guys." His eyes still bore into Seren, but with less impatience. He just wanted to resolve this and get this group on track, somehow. He seemed like the only sane person in it.

Watching the exchange for the brief time it took, Vivi frowned, realizing what she wanted more than anything. So Seren only did this to get the batteries? Everyone needed them for the most part, but the fact that she went further just to obtain some... It didn't seem fair in some ways. She had suggested splitting everything evenly. Of course no one bothered with her opinion. Her hands juggled the small amounts of batteries she had, and if it was going to make the mart peaceful again, she didn't mind giving them up. Walking up slowly to the other girl, Vivi displayed them in her palm, "Here, take mine." There was going to be a catch, and honestly, she wouldn't care about her own life right now. If others survive, why not let them? "Let him go first and put down the gun, please."

Seren met Vivi's eyes, silent for a moment, before nodding. She reached into Mostyn's coat pocket, grabbing his gun, and tossed it across the floor. She pushed him to the ground next with a contemptuous snort, slightly lowering her gun, but never taking her finger off the trigger.

Her eyes bored into hers as she reached out, grabbing the batteries from her palm. If they wanted to keep this idiot around so bad, then he would be their problem, not hers. Seren stuffed them into her pocket, took a couple careful steps away, and then started to march off into the aisles, anger putting fire into each step.
