How do we tell if its night?

The backrooms were more silent than the mart itself, despite the eerie awkwardness of a dozen reserved survivors. The only time sound broke the box-crowded place was when Shey was brought there, tied up with some ropes and left to sit in an office. That, and when Masie awoke, while the others had already fallen asleep. She was lulled by the buzzing of the old lights, and her eyes fluttered open as soon as she wanted them to.

She stood from her hiding place, behind the boxes, where her duffle-bag was hidden under half-a-dozen boxes. She stood and smiled, unzipping this dufflebag, drawing vile after vile from it with excited giggles. Clear liquid, almost undifferentiated from normal water, filled each vile. She poured them into needles and grinned deviously. "Come, bitter conduct, come, unsavoury guide," she whispered in a singsong voice. "Thou desperate pilot, now at once run on. The dashing rocks thy seasick, weary bark."

When she finished loading the syringes, she squirted once for a test. When the liquid propelled into the air, Masie smiled even wider. "And here's to you my love." she said, before running off into the mart.


"And heere's to yoou my looove...heere's to yoou my looove..." she sung, her voice silent and sweet. She arrived at the campsite, where survivors slept in a campsite arranged in a circle. Masie hopped around on her heels, choosing carefully her victim. The one she rested on was a girl, a girl of brown hair and the name "Lillian." She didn't know that yet. Masie smiled at the girl. "You'll be my love today." she mouthed to the girl, almost as if congratulating her, and poked the needle into the girl's arm. A paralyzing liquid entered her veins.

The girl stirred around in her sleep every other moment, troubled by her dreams, thoughts flashing back to that last night with the lights on; watching in the dim frenzy of lanterns and flashlights as the Nightcrawlers came rushing in, the sheer panic and chaos that followed. She relived every moment, grabbing what little things she could and narrowly escaping through a broken window, down alleyways, into the streets. How many people had died in there? Were any of them still alive?

It changed. A dark shadow started to follow her. Lillian gripped around for her knife, but it wasn't there. She tried to run faster, but her feet felt like sudden heavy weights. She could feel the end upon her as it sprinted closer, it's ice-cold claws stabbing at her arm -

"AAH - FUCK!" She screamed out suddenly, trying to swing her arm out, but the limb was already starting to fail her. Lily's first instinct always was to reach for her weapon, shaking, reaching for it with her free hand in her pocket. It wasn't working. With wide eyes, she bent and stared up at the girl behind her. "W-Wha-why...?" The words stumbled out, "H-help...!"

Masie put a hand over Lillian's mouth, a silent ssh erupting from her. "Please..." she whispered. "You'll wake the others, baby."
Hand still over the mouth of Lillian, Masie began to scan for a bag. She looked around the girl's sleeping bag, and when she couldn't see it, frowned and withdrew a thin blade, flipped open by a flick of the wrist. "Now darling, where do you keep your stuff?" Masie whispered in almost a disappointed tone. "You have to have stuff, right dear? You're pretty, I don't want to kill you, darling."

Lillian's wide eyes narrowed slightly as the bitch threw her hand over her mouth. Things started to fall into place in her mind with haste, and the situation was becoming all too familiar. She had been drugged before, by some stupid, sadistic bastards at one point or another, and she let out a groan when the gleam of the girl's blade hit her vision. A small part of her wanted to girl to get it over with, make the death quick - maybe if she was paralyzed, she wouldn't feel a thing - but there was a louder, more defiant side of her that wanted to tell Masie to fuck off. If she was going to go, it wasn't going to be by some other whore's needle.

She didn't answer, beginning to cough and gasp for air. Between the poison and Masie's hand over her mouth, it was getting too hard to breathe. Still, before she realized what she's done, she'd glanced down at her bag for a split second- hidden in her sleeping back by her feet.

Maisie blinked, and smiled. She mouthed 'thank you,' and stuck her hand in Lillian's sleeping bag, feeling around for the sleeping bag. When she discovered the girl's personal store, she felt for the zipper. It stuck in place, much to Maisie's frustration, not unzipping from the force of simply one hand. She needed two, one to hold the bag and one to pull the zipper. Two hands she didn't have.

Unless...

Maisie pulled the bag out from the sleeping bag, and as she did that, removed her second hand from Lillian's mouth. She then pressed her lips to her victim's lips instead, formally freeing her second hand and unzipping the bag. Feeling around, all she could find was what appeared to be food. Some toothpaste was stored in there too. Maisie grabbed what she needed, and drew her lips from the girls', placing the hand back.

With a quiet rustle, Shey lifted her head from her shoulder. Her mouth was dry and her mind was a fog. She knew she had fallen asleep after being tied up. But for how long was a question which may not ever be answered. Twisting her hands in order to test the tightness of the bonds, she winced at the rawness of her wrists. It'd be best to assume she'd been there for a while. Not to mention that her body was sore from being in that one position for hours.

Narrowing her eyes, Shey spotted a broken pipe just within reaching distance of her feet. Biting her lip, she reached out with her foot and slowly drew it towards her. Bending her leg back, to where she could reach the pipe with her hands. Slowly but surely, she cut through the rope. All the while her body ached and protested against her movements. With a snap, the ropes loosened around her torso. Slowly getting to her feet, Shey took a glance around the room. She remembered briefly a girl who was in the back rooms with her when she was tied up. That girl wasn't there. Cautious, Shey made her way out of the back rooms, and to the front rooms where she saw the girl from the back room.

Narrowing her eyes, she watched the girl insert a liquid into another survivor's body, then continue on to rummage through the girl's backpack. Frowning Shey looked down at the pipe and back to the girl. With conviction, she swiftly sprinted forward and swung at the girls head with the pipe.

Maisie smiled at Lillian. "All right, baby. I love you dearly, I do, but I love you too much." she whispered, stroking her captive's chin with a soft trace of her finger, pulling a knife from her boot. She brought the jagged blade to the light, a Huntsman knife, etched with the name Maisie Weston. The Weston was proceeded by a heart.

"They cannot know." she whispered, putting a finger to her mouth in a ssh. But as she brought the knife up to stab her victim, darkness engulfed her with a stern whack! She lay atop Lillian, unconscious, a red mark blossoming in her short blonde hair, the knife falling to the ground beside the paralyzed girl; beside the syringe.

"What the hell is going on now?!" Allen nearly shouted as he sat up from his bed. He was sound asleep actually resting very well for once when he heard a rather loud voice that came from Lillian as she had cried help, but from being such a deep slumber, it sounded muffled and got lost in the dream he was having, but it slightly brought him back to consciousness. What officially woke him up was the horrible noise of the pipe meeting Maisie's head. Sitting up while trying to rub the sleepiness out of his eyes, he looked over to see two girls sprawled on the floor and the crazy girl standing over both of them with a pipe in her hands. Jumping to his feet and grabbing his trusted machete, he cautiously made his way closer to Shey. "What did you do?!"

"Can you please keep it down some of us are trying to slee--" Tara snapped, sitting up slowly only to see a very curious looking scene and stopping her sentence in it's tracks. "What the actual fuck?"
The brunette quickly jumped to her feet, having to pause to regain her balance after having all the blood rush to her head. Tara then grabbed her gun after noticing that freaky cannibal girl that totally attacked the red head on the very first day at the mart. "What is going on here? I thought you were locked up!"

She moved slowly toward the two girls laying unconscious looking for any sign of movement. Noticing a small knife and syringe before looking back up at Shey accusingly.

Lillian could scarcely read the etching's on the girl's blade as she raised it higher, the cool steel gleaming even more fiercely against the light from the fire burning close by. The name, this girl's words, they meant absolutely nothing to her. She wanted to scream, to kick, fight back somehow; but any words she tried to shout came out weakly against Masie's palm, and she found herself quickly accepting her fate, shutting her eyes tight and praying with a swift end.

The sickening sound of the metal hitting Masie's head snapped her out of it. Next thing she realized, the blonde was crumpled down on top of her, the shape of another blonde standing behind. It was hard to tell who it was exactly. It was hard to focus and nothing seemed clear to her then. She thought she heard more yelling, two more shapes stirring. With small gasps for air, she tried to call out. "H-h- Hel- ah..." Her voice was weak, fingers moving nimbly as she reached for their attention.

Standing up straight, Shey dropped the pipe and let her arms hang at her sides. With a continuous frown, she griped the unconscious girl by the back of her shirt and lifted her off of the paralyzed girl. Dropping the thief and would be murderer, she turned to the others and gestured at the scene in front of her. "Well, in case you are taking this all out of context, this girl," Shey nudged the girl she knocked out with her shoe. "Tried to kill this girl." Pausing, to give an older man a glance. "What I did, was stop this girl from being killed." Now Shey felt like a hypocrite, she attacked another girl their first time together, which isn't a good first impression. Unfortunately for Shey(and people around her), she tended to slip back into her past self in extremely tense situations. Past self being how she was a a coyote. Which was a mainly, kill everyone kind of mentality. Shey hated herself for it.

"You thought I was locked up?" She questioned, looking up at the girl give or take a few years older than her. "I'm not sure it could be called locked up if there are objects within my reach to let me go..." Her voice slowly drifted off, realizing that these people may actually kill her before checking with the paralyzed girl.

Without saying much back to Shey, Allen looked down to where she had moved Maisie and then to Lillian. What happened to her? There were items spread out next to both of the girls including the knife and the syringe. Reaching over and picking up both, Allen stared at the syringe for a minute, twisting it around to see if there was anything in it. Looking at the needle and closely inside of the syringe, he could definitely tell that it had been used. The only issue is that he had absolutely no idea what was in it. That wasn't his job. Heck, the first and last job he had was at some random fast food chain in town while he was in school. "Shiiiit..." he grumbled under his breath as he placed the syringe back down but pocketed the knife (somehow) to keep it away from both Shey and Maisie if she woke up soon. With that blow to the head, Allen wasn't exactly worried about it. "Well that girl got this one with something," he said, looking down at Lillian who looked still conscious but barely. "Hey. Can you hear me?" he asked, looking down at her with a pretty worried look. "Tara, do you know what to do? One of you... get help. Where's that kid that did all the doctoring stuff yesterday?"

"Right here." said a sleepy voice. Harvey sat up in his sleeping bag, having been awake since Allen rose. He didn't move, just sat there, mainly due to his sleepiness. Now he stood, rubbing an eye and walking over to Allen. He studied the syringe, before letting out a defeated sigh. "I'm a first-year medical student, I wouldn't know the first clue of how to identify that." he said quietly. "Even if, we'd need instruments to differentiate it from other clear liquid chemicals. We might as well just as the carrier when she wakes up.

Harvey glared at Maisie, before stretching. "Where are the ropes? It won't be long now." he said, tone and eyes a little less bleary.
